what I can offer
I am happy to work with both individuals and couples. My training is primarily in evidence-based methods such as Schema Therapy and CBT, but I am inspired by various different schools of psychology, from internal family systems to radical psychotherapy. I represent an integrative approach and I enjoy tailoring the modality to fit my client's unique needs. Still, the way I understand and conceptualise the themes my clients bring into the therapeutic space is mostly influenced by the Schema Therapy model and Existential Psychology.

What is the Schema Therapy model?

Schema therapy is a form of psychotherapy that helps individuals identify and change deep-seated patterns or themes, that can cause ongoing emotional difficulties. By understanding and addressing these patterns, clients can develop healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving, leading to more fulfilling lives.

What is Existential Psychology?

Existential psychology helps people explore life's big questions about meaning and purpose without labeling their problems as mental illness. It views issues like anxiety and loneliness as signs that a person is not living an authentic life, revealing their potential and guiding them towards a more fulfilling existence.

One of the most important existential paradoxes that we all must learn to hold is how to stay connected to one another without betraying ourselves. We all want to be free and stay true to our authentic self, but we all need trusting and meaningful connections in our lives, too. Both are equally necessary in order to flourish, but keeping these two in balance can be very challenging. One of my most exciting missions is to create a space where you can discover your personal answer to this challenge, finding what works best for you.

Couples Therapy
"A crisis is a terrible thing to waste."
Paul Romer
Schema Couple's Therapy is an evidence-based, modern and effective treatment method. It focuses on emotional reconnection and prevents escalation and alienation. Over the course of therapy, we identify the underlying self-defeating patterns behind your relationship problems, foster compassion and intimacy, and introduce solutions. You can gain a good understanding of your experience on a personal and couple level, and work towards long-term improvement.
Active interventions and at-home practices are an essential part of therapy. In the long-term, this will help you acquire tools to resolve your relationship issues without my assistance.
What problems can I help you with?
A comprehensive list is beyond the scope of this short introduction, but here are some examples:
-
difficult communication and recurring conflicts
-
resentment, hostility
-
neglect, stonewalling, disconnection
-
lack of intimacy
-
relationship crises
-
compatibility issues
-
preparation or prevention before big decisions such as marriage, starting a family, moving to a new place, etc.
-
combative separation

Stabilisation after trauma
Acute Stress Syndrome Stabilisation (ASSYST) is a short intervention designed for people who have intense psychological distress and/or physiological/somatic reactivity caused by recent traumatic events. It can be administered within the first one and a half months after the adverse experience. Evidence shows that it can prevent the onset of long-term post traumatic conditions such as PTSD. This intervention does not require excessive talking about the trauma.

Assertiveness training
"Never trade your uniqueness for approval."
Joy Marino
Reflect on your relationship with yourself, and repair your relationships with others. Assertiveness is the ability to speak your truth clearly and unapologetically, while strenghtening your connections through compassion. Often we submit our needs and maintain a state of unhappiness or resentment. And often we become too angry, or ignite a fight, although all we seeked for was empathy. This training helps you learn assertiveness, which contributes to harmonious and long-lasting relationships in all areas of life.
